Week 8D
Last weekend, Dave, Jadyn, and I went to Petit Jean State Park. It was a "Perfect 10" day! We went on several hikes while we were there. I noticed I did not have as much trouble climbing up as I did going down. Boy, was I thankful for the level ground in-between. It was there that I rested and recuperated, getting ready for the next leg of my journey.
It's the same way with the quest for a healthier life. I had no trouble going up. As a matter of fact, I rather enjoyed that part. Eating what I wanted, when I wanted, and not giving a second thought to it. Now, however, I do give second thoughts, so much so that I do an outstanding job of beating myself up, particularly in the middle of the night.
The past few weeks, I've been on that level ground. I haven't lost much. Now, however, I am ready for the descent again. I'm ready to start working this regimen again. For me, diet and exercise is a lot like driving a standard transmission or playing the organ. I have a hard time putting it all together. But, it's time to start.
