Something Remarkable

I must explain the title of this post. I am using the word "remarkable" to mean "something worthy of notice" and not the usual term "extraordinary." Today on my way to work, I saw something that I think is remarkable. I was behind a green Jeep Cherokee, the back of which was covered with signs and bumper stickers. On the back window was a sign that read, "I don't suffer iniquity...I enjoy it." On the bumper was a bumper sticker that read, "God bless America." I see this as completely remarkable.

Why remarkable? For one simple reason...on the back of that vehicle was displayed the lies that are causing so many lost souls to not believe the Word of God. How many people believe such drivel? Many! Why? Because so many children of God do not live lives of holiness. I know because I am one. I came face to face with this at the Pastor's Conference at FBC Jacksonville, FL. I repented of this and have tried in earnest to focus on holiness. What this world needs is NOT Christians who look more worldly. This world needs Jesus. This world needs to see a "peculiar people zealous of good works." This world needs to see people who do not believe that they can enjoy iniquity to the fullest and then expect the blessings of God. This world needs to see believers who understand the concept of grace, who show the love and saving power of Jesus Christ, and who point lost souls to the cross of Calvary.

I am thankful that the back of that Jeep Cherokee was a remarkable sight for me today. I'm not sure it would have been 6 weeks ago.

Hi, found your site from "church activities" being in both of our profiles. Amen to this posting. God calls us to be salt and light and if we lose our saltiness we are useless. I encourage you in both your journey of weight loss and in pursuing holiness. I think God will answer your prayers with regards to the former when you are pursuing the latter.
